My language friend, Xu Xiang er is leaving for her country today ,and I know I feel sad and reluctant about it. She is a cute Korean girl ,studying in Brown University. We talked with each other for more than an hour almost every day last two months. Now I find how precious those time is!
During that time, we talked and discussed some topics between China&Korean&USA. Some of them were very serious and senstive but we conveyed our opinions freely. In fact, our opinions on the same topic were so different but neither of us tried to persuaded each other. For example, about loving the motherland, we have pretty different ideas. In my opinon, I think Chinese people must love our country without on reason such as defending our unity. In other words, whoever says or does anything destroy the unity is not forgiven. However, she didn’t think so. She thought everybody has rights to say anything whatever it is. Also, she told me that the American always say some passive and negative things about their country even their government or president. And whatever goverment or leaders should consider people’s necessity and desire when they make relevant decision. That’s to say, they can express anything as they like and don’t fear to be blamed or punished. Of course, the korean are always like ours.
The whole world is consist of more than two hundrded countries and every country is distinct with others. It is no necessary to make every country the same or do the same thing. On the quite opposie, we should seek for the same and keep the difference. Since we can’t change anybody or country we can just do something make everything better. What’s more, we’d better communicate more with each other to know more.
Finally, I wish my language friend have a good trip. In future, we will keep in touch on the line. She said she would come to Beijing in October and I’m expecting.
Take care, Xiang er!
