Greece awaits new round of tax rises and spending cuts

The Greek government plans to announce a third round of tax increases
and spending cuts to alleviate the country’s financial crisis.
Expect an increase in the VAT and the prices of petrol and diesel, and
to make a move to abolish the holiday attention generous bonuses to
staff.

The Socialist government has pledged to reduce the budget deficit of
Greece by 12.7% – more than four times the limit under the rules of the
