UN sanctions shameful, says Eritrea
Eritrea must bear the UN sanctions imposed on Wednesday a disgrace, and denied
accusations that the armed Islamists in Somalia.
Eritrea is a TESFAMICHAEL Gerahtu British ambassador told the BBC that the
sanctions are illegal and will only exacerbate the problems in the Horn of
Africa.
The Security Council imposed an arms embargo, travel bans and applies to
employees of Eritrea.

government has the authority, only small parts of the capital, Mogadishu.
But Mr TESFAMICHAEL said the allegations made by critics of the country was
inconsistent.

original position of UN sanctions, as imposed on Iran in 2006.
The United States has said it tries to talks with Eritrea for months, but the
country had not complied with its promises.
The United Nations has often expressed concern about the influx of arms to
Somalia, where Islamic hard-line-Shabab al-and anti-Islamic Hezbollah with
government troops for control of the capital Mogadishu.
Somalia has been the subject of a UN embargo for many years, but the weapons
remain freely available on the Mogadishu arms market.
