Travel warnings amid freezing fog
Motorists and last-minute Christmas shoppers were asked to take precautions because
of the freezing temperatures and fog take further damage to Scotland.
All major highways are open, but the police warns of tough conditions and said that
not all roads are back to normal.
The airports are open, although there could still be cancellations and delays.
The coldest place overnight was Aviemore, with a temperature of-16C, while 11C in
Edinburgh.
Said Secretary of Transportation in Scotland, Stewart Stevenson, ice and snow in
recent days, some of the worst conditions on one road for 20 years.
BBC Weather Center warned that many parts of Scotland are in line, minus suffer sub
-zero temperatures during the day Thursday as a bag of frozen fog in the central
plains tend to stay all day.
Pilots were instructed to wait even think about it, stay until Christmas, when it is
absolutely necessary.
CAR Hoare patrol manager David told BBC Scotland: Our recommendation – which was
supposed to your local weather and traffic conditions to check on where you live and
where your route will take place, before deciding to travel.
Our main recommendation is that people delay their travel as far as possible to
drive may not be as on Christmas Eve trying to travel on Christmas, because the
weather is better.
