Cost issue over ‘green’ devices
Three quarters of the Scots consider installing a solar or other renewable
technologies at home, but daunted by the cost, according to a report.
The Energy Saving Trust in Scotland, said there is now much more aware of energy in
the home.
The trust said the initial cost was expensive but available grants and long-term
savings could be significant.
He said he was 1000% increase in the use of renewable energy subsidies to home in
the last six years.
In the study, 1,025 people in Scotland, and discovered that the technology of 74%
would be appropriate, as a solar panel that consider their motherland, but were
postponed because of cost.
However, seven in 10 are unaware that the subsidies available.
Mike Thornton, director of the Energy Saving Trust Scotland, said: People like the
idea of his own power, and if he knew he could help cover the costs, are more likely

Once installed, these technologies can save several hundred dollars in electricity
bills a year and have a sustainable lifestyle. Home of renewable energy is also
attractive to home buyers, so that all investments that could add to the value of
the property. The survey also that people brought home renewable energy concerns
for planning permission (28 percent).
And more incentive to install the technology was to save money.
The trust said the average cost of building renewable energy technologies of origin
were: 4800 for solar water heaters, 9500 for air heat pump, 11,000 for wood fuel for
boilers and 14,000 geothermal heat pumps.
